All prices include vat at the current rate
- First item fee includes document fees for setup, printing, photo's
- An item fee for each standard item (see Key, for definition)
- Similar simple items of the same metal and type can sometimes be grouped together. Up to ten items - one fee.
- Simple all metal items which cannot be grouped may be at a reduced single piece fee.
- Premium items with more time required are charged extra. (see Key)
- Express while-you-wait service. We will always go the extra mile if you want to have your valuation immediately. For out of hours work there may have to be a 20% extra charge.
Re-Valuation
To update an Insurance valuation that we have carried out for you:
- Every item examined, checked, values adjusted and a crisp new document issued you pay only £80 inc VAT.
- New additions charged at the usual rates
- Premium items requiring additional research will require an extra charge.
- Similar (same metal) items can sometimes be grouped together saving you money.
Payment facilities
We can now accept payment using PayPal, any major credit card, as well as cheques or cash.
If you wish to pay by credit card we can take your details over the phone and process your payment prior to dispatch of the report document.
Security and privacy
For your security card numbers and details are not retained. All customers information is private and confidential and will not be revealed to a third party without your permission or by order of a court of law.
Home Visit Service
We offer a home visiting service. If you don't want to make the trip to Exeter we will come to you.
An ideal solution for those who cannot travel, privacy guaranteed.
Visits can be to your home, an office, a bank or solicitors chambers. You choose the venue, we do the valuation.
Distance no object? In theory no, but we have to charge for mileage and travel time so please ask for a quote.
- Home/office visits. The mimimum charge for a home visit is £80 plus a minimum charge equivalent to eight standard items, additional items charged pro rata.
- Exceptional items on estimate.
As an example a home visit currently starts from £405 inc VAT.
Our refund policy
We do not offer refunds on fees charged for our professional opinion, however, in the very rare event of an error we would be happy to issue an amended document without charge.
Be sure you understand this point fully before proceeding.
* Key
First item Fee: Inclusive fee for initial set-up and report costs, plus one standard item appraisal and its valuation.
Premium Item: Premium items are those requiring a longer time to appraise and research, such as larger multi stone items, brooches and necklaces, diamond set items above 1ct and rare items. Please ask for an estimate.
Please note premium items are exceptional and that almost all items will be at the standard rate.
Similar items of low value, such as light silver chains, costume jewellery, sets of spoons and scrap items, can be valued as a group so long as they are broadly alike in terms of materials, condition and manufacture etc.
